Will of George Weaver

In the name of God, amen. I George Weaver of the County of Shenandoah and state of Virginia, being weak of body but of perfect mind & memory do hereby make my last will and testament in the manner and form following, that is to say.

1^st I desire that any just debts and funeral charges be paid.
2^nd I do give and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Weaver my soral mare and two cows (her choice of my cattle) her bed and furniture. I do also give to my said wife the third part of the produce of my plantation to be delivered to her by my son Michael as hereafter mentioned.
3^rd I do give to my son Michael Weaver my plantation whereon I now live, to him and his heirs forever, he to pay herein after mentioned, to wit, to his mother the one third part of all the grain and hay that he may raise on said plantation and furnish her with firewood and every other thing that she may need. My said wife to keep the mansion house as long as she lives.
4^th My said son Michael is to pay to my son Jacob Weaver the sum of five hundred dollars agreeable to a contract made between them two.
5^th It is my will and desire that after the death of my wife, my said son Michael shall pay to my other children as follows, to wit, to my son George the sum of one hundred pounds current money of Virginia.
6^th To my daughter Rosina Myers one hundred pounds current money of Virginia.
7^th To my son John Weaver one hundred dollars and no more.

9^th To my son Christian Weaver two acres of land, the same on which Christian now lives, and twenty pounds current money.
10^th To Mary Hickle (wife of George Hickle) the sum of one hundred pounds current money of Virginia.
11^th To my daughter Magdalina the sum of one hundred dollars current money of Virginia.
12^th To my son Martin Weaver the sum of one hundred pounds current money of Virginia.

And I do hereby order and direct that my son Michael Weaver do pay to my other heirs (after the death of their mother) the several sums willed to them at the rate of one hundred dollars annually, beginning with George and taking them as they stand in order, down to Martin, and that he, Michael do pay one hundred dollars every years until the whole be paid.

It is further my will and desire that my personal estate be sold by my executor hereafter name, and that the money arising therefrom be divided as follows, one third to my wife Mary and the other two thirds be equally divided amongst all my children herein before mentioned.

And lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint my son Michael Weaver Executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking and renouncing all other wills by me made. In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 13^th day of December 1815.

At a court continued and held for the County of Shenandoah on Tuesday the 13^th day of February, 1816. The last will and testament of George Weaver dec’d was produced in court and proved by the oaths of Isaac Samuels, John Morgan, and Benjamin Hawkins witness thereto and order to be recorded. And on motion of Michael Weaver the Executor therein named who made oath according to law and entered into bond together with Israel Allen, Benjamin Hawkins and John Morgan his securities in the penal sum of three thousand dollars conditioned as the law directs a probate of the said will in due form is grant him.
