Allen (0Research) Cox of Newberry Co SC
Allen Cox was born about 1735, possibly in Pennsylvania. Allen is probably connected to the Plummer Family of Pennsylvania and other Bush River MM Quakers. However, specific proof is not found.
In about 1760, Allen married an unknown spouse. Allen is first found recorded in a 3/1768 land survey. Allen and his wife had many children as evidenced by the 1790 Newberry Co SC Census.
By the time of Allen's death in 2/1794, his spouse had also died; as evidenced by estate proceedings which exclude mention of any spouse. Allen's estate was probated 5/1794 in Newberry Co SC. His three youngest children were listed as minors who chose Elisha Brooks as guardian. Allen and his wife are believed to be buried on the family farm near Chappells SC.
